Aker Arctic is a private company specializing in the development, design, engineering and testing of ice-going vessels, icebreakers, offshore marine structures, marine transport solutions and ports.

Our experienced, highly qualified and dynamic team provide our customers with specialized arctic expertise together with cost effective and reliable solutions for arctic marine development. Employing about 50 people we have a current turnover over of 7 million euros.

We are constantly looking for marine design experts, mainly in the areas of naval architecture, machinery, structures or hydrodynamics as well as experienced projects managers (with ship design/ship building experience). If you feel we could benefit from your skills, we encourage you to submit an open application.

We are looking for a person with strong IT skills to become our ICT Responsible. You will be part of the Information Technology team which is responsible for delivering the company’s IT services in cooperation with our service provider. Your duties include developing and maintaining our IT environment, providing on-site user support, preparing the yearly IT budget, coordinating work with our service provider, and other IT-related management tasks.

We require deeper hands-on knowledge of the following: • Information security • Linux and Windows servers and workstations • Microsoft 365, hybrid Azure AD • Enterprise networks • IT asset management

Knowledge of the following is considered an advantage: • M-Files • Programming skills We expect fluent written and spoken English. Working Finnish is an advantage.

We expect you to be a professional project manager who is able to participate in technical discussions and capable of making decisions. Having experience in ship propulsion and equipment projects and basic knowledge of ship technology are essential. You have an engineering degree in the field of the shipbuilding industry or mechanical engineering. Our work environment is international; we have clients from all over the world with different cultures. Your written and spoken English is fluent and proficiency in Finnish is seen as an advantage.
