Six Arctic Security Cutters for U.S. Coast Guard
The U.S. Coast Guard has awarded contracts for the construction of six Arctic Security Cutters based on the Multi-Purpose Icebreaker (MPI) design developed by Aker Arctic and Seaspan ULC.

Two icebreakers will be built by Rauma Marine Constructions Oy in Finland and four more by Bollinger Shipyards in the United States. The first Finnish-built Arctic Security Cutter is expected to be delivered in 2028, followed by the first U.S.-built vessel in 2029.
